Floored
I woke up this morning, grabbed a nice cup of strong coffee and settled in the living room to watch a lil Saturday morning TV.
I like game shows; most especially, it is always an interesting experience watching game shows from the 60?s, 70?s and 80?s. When I first started watching these shows, I noticed almost all the women were either teachers or housewives. This was shocking to a woman my age considering that is not the norm anymore. All the same, I understood how times have changed and would simply go on about my game show watching taking a slight mental note of the regularity of this career trend. This morning was different altogether. I was watching a game called Card Sharks. Contestants are asked a series of poll questions and asked to guess how many answered one way or another for each question. One of the questions on this particular show (dating late 70?s early 80?s) was the following:
?Out of 100 men polled, how many have been so angry with their wives, they would bend them over their knee and give them a spanking??
Excuse me?
The female contestant proceeded to giggle uncontrollably and state this spanking could lead to ?better things?. Better things? Are you fucking kidding me? How could a man bending his wife over his knee out of anger lead to better things? Unless that better thing is a big fat divorce or a shot to the gut to her ever so enlightened husband, I think they are seriously mistaken.
You wanna be spanked? Go ahead, have fun, enjoy yourself until you?re in bright red ass bliss! But this was NOT a sexual question people! The question plainly stated this act was done in anger, not foreplay.
At this point, I quickly thanked my Mom, my Grandma, my Mother in Law and every other strong woman I know that had to put up with this bullshit. I thanked every woman that fought for my rights to work, feel, think, speak and fuck whatever I wanted. I thanked my husband for TiVoing Sisters of ?77 and exposing me to something I never knew about. I thanked you all for making questions and actions such as the above shocking and unacceptable rather than entertaining and typical. We are fortunately in a different world now; one we may even take for granted given the struggles of the past. It sometimes takes moments like this to remind us of that fact.
In case you?re curious, out of the 100 men polled, 14 had performed such actions on their wives. The amount may seem small to you, but for those 14 women, I bet they would disagree.

I had to take at least half the Ballers team over my knee at one time or another. No joke!
