Monday Musings
Tonight?s Monster House was couldn?t have been more up my alley. The theme was ?Sports Entertainment? and I can only hope that one day I have as many TVs as this house now has gracing its walls. Don?t get me started on The Pit because I?ll find myself drooling again.
I think MH should have a complete house build. I?m talking from the foundation up. They could combine all the previous episodes, one room or section of the house for each episode aired. Completely trick it out with as much Monster quality as possible then give the house away to a loyal viewer. Shit, I?ll even volunteer to be that loyal viewer! I?ll make that sacrifice, yeah, uh sacrifice. How does this not work out for everyone?

So along with all the other folk, I find myself along for the ride over at Orkut. I have hopes this will bring about a new wave in friend making, but I?m not holding my breath. I?m easy to find, so just look for Princess Fix IT.

Almost every episode of American Chopper ends with Paul Sr. stating the following,
"This has to be the most incredible thing we've ever experienced."
Oh, man Big Daddy Sr...this is just the beginning.

I really shouldn't have to clean out over 500 malware files with 5 different spyware removal tools as often as I do. Broadband access really isn't that expensive, so how's about you surfin for porn on your own dime rather then at work? Cool? Cool....dumbass.
Comments

I've had this long-running multi-year love affair with AdAware:
http://www.lavasoftusa.com/
I try other packages only to keep going back to it.
They have a "professional" edition that you can manage centrally, and that self-updates, much like our anti-virus software. It's also capable of catching malware as it's installed, rather than after the fact.
I've got this fantasy that someday someone will install that all over the place at work.

AdAware is definitely my top choice spyware removal program. I use it first, then if necessary, I venture off towards more specific removers like CW Shredder and the like. I'm not a huge SpyBot fan and Hijack This! can get dangerous if a novice approaches it incorrectly. All in all, I'm just like you Brian, back to AdAware for almost everything. Trust me, I'm making sure it makes the rounds at work. ;)
jojo---spyware is everywhere, regardless if you peak at porn or not. It's practically inescapable. Use Mozilla and you won't have to worry so much about it.

Oh, this is precious:

This supposed spyware removal tool actually -adds- more spyware to your system. It's since been yanked from download.com.
This from an article at new.com:

And people wonder why I proselytize open source software like a big hairy crazy man.

I've got to agree with the Princess, Johanna. It's everywhere. I try to keep my machine squeaky-clean and avoid any website that just *might* be dangerous. And I use Mozilla almost exclusively. (Plus, in many ways a cape feels like a condom, but let's not go there :)
So I thought I was safe, but I figured I'd try AdAware anyways. 51 hits. In my defense, 50 of them were cookies - which you really cannot avoid without *lots* of trouble -, but one was the Alexa spybar. How I got it? I have no idea - I use IE only once a week, and definitely don't install plugins for it.
So there's one more tool in my defense weapons collection. This whole 'net thing is getting painful!
