I think my wife is more excited about it than I am. And I'm totally stoked. The only bummer is we may be out of town that night. Oh well, I'm sure they'll show it again...and again.
I can't justify the cost of the TiVo unit plus the lifetime service. I've come close to getting one, but I know the price is going to drop out as soon as I do. Then Sony's got this PSX thingy coming out. It's expensive, but I need a new PS2 as well. I've also heard very good things about SnapStream: http://www.snapstream.com
SUPPOSEDLY the Princess was going to put the smack down on Linux and MythTV. Never read a peep about it. ;o)
Hey man! It's not like I'm pullin in Programmer Dollars here! Seriously, it's just on the back burner until I finish buying the parts. All I need is the motherboard and a hard drive. Plus I might get TiVo for Christmas so who knows. :)
It's a NICE Toshiba DVD player + TiVo (including TiVo Basic Service) for $450. A new model DVD player and Series 2 TiVo combined? That, I may be able to justify. I'd probably upgrade to the TiVo Plus lifetime subscription soon thereafter.

I'm surprised you don't own a Tivo yet Paul. That would solve your out of town problem pronto!
